What you’ll discover below:
It’s November, and we’ve selected our 5 Top Cut Flowers for the month!
We’re starting to see Christmas all around us – but there’s still plenty of time to bridge the gap with seasonal materials that shouldn’t be pigeon-holed.
Read on and see exactly what we mean as we share colours that make many of these products perfect for November.
#1 Ilex Berries
The selection of Ilex available in November and December is excellent – and it’s not just red!
You could describe it as an analogous colour harmony, ranging from yellow through orange and then to red. However, this simplifies the selection available, as varieties such as ‘Cresgold’ and ‘Julia’ offer dual-coloured berries on the same branch and the shades of red that go from bright to dark and dramatic.
Away from the ‘natural colours’, as we move closer to Christmas, we’ll see the metallic painted selection grow and grow. Whether you use the whole stem or cut them up for use throughout your designs, Ilex is an excellent seasonal material and a great addition to countless arrangements.

#2 Coloured Foliage
You don’t need us to tell you how popular coloured foliage has become throughout the year. This trend gives you an even greater range of options in the winter months as we head towards Christmas.

It’s also worth noting how cost-efficient these products are. While they cost more than their natural counterparts, they likely cost less than flowers and still give a huge splash of colour. Also, a little goes a long way!
Quick reminder: Some paint may get transfer if it gets wet. It’s best to place these in shallow water and avoid using them in wet areas or on damp workbenches.
#3 Dianthus | Carnations single
Are we all guilty of taking Carnations – also known as Dianthus – for granted? They’ve been around for so long that it’s easy to overlook them. Yet, despite their long history, new and exciting varieties keep appearing all the time.
The colour range is more on-trend than ever before.
Although available throughout the year, we thought November was the perfect time to celebrate them. If you’ve unintentionally fallen out of love with Carnations, or tend to order the same varieties all the time, ask yourself – is it time to take another look at what’s available?
Below is just a tiny selection!
#4 Christmas Deco (on Sticks)
Whether you’re looking for a more natural, wintery feel for November, or starting to stock up on something a bit more glitzy for Christmas, the dried Christmas décor on sticks is a convenient way to add something special to your designs – be it bouquets or arrangements.
They also offer great cost efficiency – and, to point out the obvious, there’s no need to worry about vase life!
With so many different options and colours available (and only a tiny bit shown here), you’re bound to find something to suit your style.

An Amazing Flower Form
If you want to add an interesting structural stem to your designs, there’s nothing quite like Anigozanthus. Having said that, thanks to their visually tactile texture, they can also bring a softer feel to flower creations too.
The range of colour tones continues to expand, ensuring there’s a variety for every colour scheme. There’s nothing else quite like them.
