What Dave doesn’t know about flowers probably isn’t worth knowing. He has a lifetime of industry experience first starting in retail, before going into the wholesale side of things. He’s headed up the Westflor team since 2018. He’s really passionate about providing outstanding service. Fanatical about getting exceptional quality flowers for Westflor clients. Add to that the fact that he’s excellent at empowering the whole team; to get the best out of them and never stops thinking about how things can be improved across every section of Westflor and it’s easy to see why he’s the running the show. Andy founded Westflor back in October ’89 with a pioneering spirit and a determination to make a mark in the floral industry. Over the years Westflor has gone from strength to strength; in many ways it’s unrecognisable from those early days, but the core family values remain strong. His career journey began as a London fireman before transitioning into the wholesale business, initially dealing with vegetables before finding his true passion in the flower trade.

Away from Westflor, Andy really enjoys his garden, but this is topped by spending time and getting out for walks with his beloved dogs, Margo and Mable who you may have seen at the warehouse. The lovable Dogue de Bordeaux duo who have become a part of the Westflor family.

One of Andy’s greatest achievements is obtaining his helicopter pilot license, a testament to his adventurous spirit and determination to conquer new heights. As a devoted supporter of West Ham United, Andy’s passion for football is evident, just like his love for the Caribbean, his preferred holiday destination.

Sharon is our skilled Accounts Manager, she’s been a key member of the Westflor team for over 30 years. A financial whiz who settles accounts, takes care of tons of important document, approves payments and assigns the heap of invoices on a daily basis.

As if keeping the account perfectly organised wasn’t enough, she had the best way of keeping all the chaps in check!

Beyond balancing the book, Sharon sites her family as being really important and she enjoys spending her free time walking her dog, and is the go-to doggie sitter to our Westflor doggie duo Margo and Mabel (when Andy is on holiday with his wife).

In her downtime she can also be found cheering on Arsenal during their matches. The passionate commitment to her favourite ‘Gunners’ football club is evident, not only by her loyalty to the team but also by her admiration for former players Olivier Giroud and Thierry Henry, this pair made it on the list when we asked her for her celebrity crushes. Whilst her dedication to Arsenal is unwavering, she admits harbouring a light-hearted yet genuine fear of Tottenham ever defeating her beloved team.

Meet Andy, our seasoned import and plant buyer, he’s been in the flower world forever, well, 28 years! With his wealth of knowledge there’s not much he doesn’t know about wholesale is our go-to expert when it comes to our importing of flowers from all corners of the world. He’s also our dedicated plant buyer ensuring we have the best range of plants for our florist customers and taking phytosanitary certificates in his stride!

Outside of the warehouse, Andy loves cooking up a storm, you’ll often find him in the kitchen where he shines as an excellent cook. Whether experimenting with new recipes or perfecting traditional dishes, Andy’s creations never fail to impress. This includes catering for many on Christmas day as he brings the his family all together. He loves every moment of it, of course everyone really enjoys the food, as does Andy, but then a classic Sunday roast, complete with all the trimmings is his favourite meal. There are some ingredients that he really won’t touch though – mushrooms, despite his culinary prowess, this fungus doesn’t make it onto his plate.

When he’s not at Westflor or in the kitchen, Andy enjoys immersing himself in a good book, supporting West Ham and loves to go for walks along the beach with his wife and young ‘spirted’ Dachshund.

As he savours each bite, he’s likely to have the upbeat tune of “What a Beautiful Day” by The Levellers playing in the background, adding to the ambiance of the meal.

Meet Dougie, our seasoned fresh flower buyer with an impressive 19 years of experience at Westflor. He’s the backbone of our buying team, ensuring we always have the best quality and selection of flowers available for our valued florist customers.

Outside of work, Dougie is a devoted family man and spends as much time as possible with his loved ones. Despite his busy schedule, he makes time for his passions, including his love for heavy metal music and the thrill of speedway races.

In his downtime, you may find Dougie indulging in the intriguing thought-provoking series “Black Mirror,” perhaps it’s no surprise that this captivates his imagination as he studied philosophy in university.

When it comes to food, Dougie’s go-to choice is a classic favourite – pizza. He appreciates its simplicity and deliciousness, always ready for a slice or two.

Introducing Michał, our dedicated Systems Administrator and all round tech titan who’s been with Westflor for an impressive 17 years. He not only knows all about flowers, but he makes sure our digital infrastructure systems are all tip-top and running smoothly, to ensure a seamless experience for our florist customers.

Outside of his tech-savvy role, Michal leads an exceptionally active lifestyle, embracing the thrill of cycling, running, and hitting the gym. His commitment to fitness is remarkable, his impressive achievements include completing several marathons in under 1 hour 50 minutes and excelling in triathlons. As if that wasn’t impressive enough he’s been placed 2nd in European Taekwondo Championships and has been part of a county Archery Team.

Despite his busy schedule and in addition to his passion for sports, Michał love to continually learn and expand his knowledge. He’s currently delving into and mastering the intricate language of Japanese and has previously gained a master’s degree in History. Perhaps taking all that into consideration it’s unsurprising he has a love for black coffee, to fuel his energy throughout the day.

We’ve covered his technical prowess, athleticism, and intellectual curiosity, but he does occasionally he takes the time to unwind and dreams of the picturesque landscapes and warm hospitality of Greece, his favourite holiday destination.

Meet Adrian, who has been a vital part of the Westflor team for 13 years. He’s our diligent fridge manager. In a nut shell his crucial role ensures that all the flowers are kept in perfect condition before swiftly reaching our customers. Adrian’s has the perfect knack for being exceptionally helpful, he’s the person everyone customer can count on, and always with a smile.

Out of the fridge and away from Westflor Adrian loves to be outdoors. Whether he’s cycling in and around the area through the countryside or walking in the forest with his family, he enjoys the time spent in nature. Back at home, Adrian likes to cook. When it comes to his own taste in food, when asked for his favourites he simply stated “I don’t have [favourites] because I like everything.

Even when it comes to unwinding after a busy week, Adrian prefers things a bit more upbeat. Being a fan of the thrill and excitement of a good high-energy action movie. His musical tastes are just as dynamic, with a particular fondness for hip hop, although he has a keen appreciation for any music that’s “catches your ear”.

Paweł is our dedicated Transport Manager, at the helm of our deliveries, making sure every order, location, and driver is perfectly coordinated and in sync. With a keen focus on efficiency and reliability,  he’s been the honing the smooth operation of our transport logistics and  member of the Westflor Team for 3 years.

Away from work, Paweł is a gym enthusiast, you’ll find him putting himself through his paces most days. Yep, he’s committed to his regular workout and physical fitness. However, he does enjoy the simple pleasures of indulging in pizza and cola too, whilst that might seem in stark contrast to his workouts at the gym, we can be sure he’ll burn that Pizza and cola off in his next workout.

As a passionate football supporter, he rallies behind Real Madrid, sharing in their triumphs and challenges. When asked what his greatest achievements are this proud dad shared that it was his two sons.

When it’s time to unwind, Paul dreams of the stunning landscapes, idyllic beaches and the rich and vibrant culture of Thailand, a favourite holiday destination that beckons with its beauty and tranquillity.

Meet Julie, our dedicated sundries coordinator. She Julie brings a wealth of expertise to her role and manages a whole range of tasks relating to our sundries department with meticulous attention to detail. Which provides our florist customers with a seamless experience. However, Julie is certainly no stranger to the industry and knows exactly what it’s like to be in a florists’ shoes; she’s a trained and experienced florist that has previously run her own floristry business. With Julie’s with her eye for trends and floristry knowledge you can trust that there’s something for everyone and business with the constantly changing sundries stock.

Outside of Westflor, Julie leads an active lifestyle, enjoying activities such as walking, hitting the gym, and immersing herself in the world of theatre. Her artistic flair is complemented by her eclectic taste and the appreciation for the finer things in life as is evident by her celebrity crushes. When we asked for one she shared that they included: Shemar Moore, Johnny Depp, Idris Elba, Brad Pitt, and Aljaz Skorjanec, but then humbly acknowledged the need to draw the line there!

Julie’s dislike for lateness underscores her commitment to punctuality and professionalism. On the flip side, her sweet tooth knows no bounds, as she delights in any sweet treat that crosses her path.

Her favourite quote, “Sing like no one is listening, Dance like no one is watching, and Love like you’ve never been loved,” encapsulates her free-spirited nature and zest for life. When it comes to taking time out her favourite holiday destination is Kefalonia, Greece, where she can relax and unwind amidst the stunning landscapes and warm Mediterranean breeze.

Meet Jane, she’s played a crucial role as part of the sundries team for 29 years as a Sundries Buyer. Alongside her professional commitments, Jane is a certified yoga teacher, embodying her belief in the importance of kindness and respect towards others. When asked what her dislikes were she stated ‘bad manners and rudeness’, preferring to always champion positivity and goodwill.

Jane’s active lifestyle extends beyond the yoga mat. She thrives on adventurous activities, spending exhilarating time navigating waters in her RIB. Her sporting spirit also shone brightly when she cycled to Amsterdam with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to raise funds for prostate cancer research, despite being a supporter of their rivals, Arsenal. Her efforts were immensely successful, raising £1800 for the cause.

Her love for travel is fulfilled with trips in her campervan, exploring new landscapes and creating memories with her grandchildren who she adores spending time with. Jane’s favourite film, “The Holiday,” mirrors her own affinity for serene getaways, but it’s Skiathos, Greece, that stands out as her top travel destination with its breath-taking views and tranquil vibes.

Beyond the warehouse, Julie enjoys leisurely walks with her dog, and staying active through swimming. Closer to home you’ll find her tending to her garden. In her downtime, she immerses herself in the pages of a good book or experiments with new recipes in the kitchen.

When we asked Julie if she had any hidden talents she implied she did, but they needed to remain a [tantalizing] secret! Whilst that may remain a secret, her love for 80’s music, especially the iconic tunes of Adam Ant, is no secret at all. Her cinematic tastes lean towards that decade too with her favourite film being the timeless classic “Dirty Dancing,” capturing her heart with its unforgettable storyline and soundtrack.

When it’s time to unwind, Julie indulges in a glass of white wine paired with delicious seafood delicacies. When it comes to travel, Julie dreams of the pristine beaches and lush landscapes of St. Lucia and Bulgaria, her favourite holiday destinations.
