So what's it all about ?
Radiant Energy
Radiant Energy is one of the four key trends that the experts have shared for 2025.
It’s brought to our attention by our friends at The Flower Council of Holland. Together, they and other experts deliver the latest trends with a clear focus on their application within the floral industry, though these trends will undoubtedly extend far beyond our sector.
Like the other trends, Radiant Radiant Energy is shaped by the current cultural narrative. The Flower Council of Holland explains:
Core values of this trend
movement, colour, light, energy, radiance, brightness, contrast, and dynamism.
Radiant Energy Colour Palette
Colours are diverse and distinct. Bright and pastel shades are present. There’s so much colour diversity that it creates a rainbow effect and consists of a colourful collection of fresh shades. Blue, green, orange, purple, lilac and everything in between are all on offer, bright colours and pastels together. There’s also a neutral grey that acts as a resting point within this colourful ensemble.
Use of Colour
The three colour combinations shown below are examples that can be used within the trend.
- Colour Key 1 – Warm shades from one colour range are complemented by two contrasting tones. This creates a powerfully energetic combination of colours
- Colour Key 2 – Soft and strong colours within one colour range (purple/red). The dark red accent gives this colour combination a spicy look.
- Colour Key 3 – This colour combination is slightly heavier than the others. Several strong colours from the main colour chart combine to form an exciting whole.

The Trend’s Product Ingredients
Contrasting colours are combined with geometric and organic shapes, creating a visual spectacle. Products appear to radiate energy and motion.
Shapes & Forms
Organic and geometric shapes are used. Straight and flowing lines alternate. Vases can be stacked on or within each other, creating an exciting layering effect
Patterns
There is always something energetic about the patterns in this trend. Think organic wave patterns, stripes with a gradient effect, patterns created with light and shadow effects or 3D-effect designs.
Materials
Many different materials are used, but most have a smooth surface. Notable use of high gloss, transparent and iridescent effects materials.
Flowers & Plants in This Trend
Despite this style trend being centred around technology, many flowers and plants can be effortlessly incorporated and are perfectly placed within the Radiant Energy trend.
Although flowers and plants don’t physically move, with the right consideration and selection, they can give the illusion of movement.
One of the easiest ways to create this sense of motion is by using flower stems of varying heights within a single design – as shown in the vase that starts with a low grouping of purple standard Carnations (Dianthus), followed by airy Limonium in the centre, and topped with Craspedia dancing above the rest at the very top of the design.
Some unique stems characteristically convey a sense of movement – Icelandic poppies (as shown lower on the page) are a perfect example. Alternatively, flowers or plant material that protrude from the bouquet or arrangement can add an energetic effect.
Plants align with this trend through the use of semi-transparent and stacked plant pots, as well as through their shapes. Papyrus is an excellent example thanks to its flexible, dynamic form.
Radiant Energy in Interiors
We see Radiant Energy brought into interior design through the use of colour, the distinctive shapes and forms, the energetic patterns and the contrast between matte and shiny and transparent and opaque surfaces in the materials that are prominent throughout the trend.
However, Interior can utilise another key feature of the trend with the use of light – especially coloured light – which plays an important role. When sections of the home are bathed in coloured light it can provide a sense of motion and when coupled with other items, the products or designs really can seem to radiate energy.

Final thoughts…
We see many florists using a designs style with an abundance of energy that would fit well into the trend. For others it may seem worlds apart from their favoured and usual style. However, as with the other trends, there is no doubt we will see it’s adoption in different areas! We’ve already seen our Pearlescent glassware flying off the shelves, the pattern on our Luna Confetti Vases is so in keeping with the organic movement of this trend.
Time and time again, we’ve seen trends spotlighted by the Flower Council of Holland make their way into the mainstream. Suddenly, you can’t help but notice influences popping up here and there, especially in cutting-edge retail spaces. If anything, these trends are ahead of their time, paving the way for what’s to come.
And it’s not just industry buzz – expect these trends to make waves in glossy magazines and across social media. There’s no shortage of PR surrounding the four trends, so get ready to see them stealing the spotlight.
Now, how you choose to use these insights is entirely up to you. But we hope this article has given you a clear understanding of the trend, along with the confidence to embrace aspects of it — because your customers will already be seeing these elements everywhere. You might even see Radiant Energy not just as a trend, but as an opportunity to energise your floristry with bold new ideas.
