What Are the Trends About?

Each year, the horticultural sector announces the upcoming trends, and 2026 is no exception.

New developments, existing inspirations, emerging trends, and movements in the floriculture sector all play a role in shaping these trends. However, each trend is deeply aligned with the current Zeitgeist, which is why they’ll soon feel so familiar. We’ll see these trends everywhere — far beyond promotions in the flower industry.

The 2026 trends focus on four distinct styles reflecting the Zeitgeist. Each trend is shaped by different aspects of what’s currently popular. This variety can make them appear contrasting, yet they remain connected by the spirit of the times.

Zeitgeist [zaɪtgaɪst] noun – the defining spirit or mood of a particular period in history, as reflected by the ideas and beliefs of the time.

What to Expect Next

You’ll see these trends shaping the flower industry and beyond — it’s a mistake to think they’re irrelevant to your business.

During their introduction it was explained “Sometimes extra happiness at home lies in the smallest things. A new shade on the wall, a statement plant that suddenly catches the light, a floral arrangement that feels perfectly in tune with your style. With these four flower and plant trends for 2026, you can shape an interior that truly feels like you. Not in one big leap, but through small choices that together turn a house into your home. “

Perhaps Doris, who loves her spray carnations, won’t be directly influenced, but her children and grandchildren certainly will be.

Year after year, these trends have proven their influence within our industry, consistently hitting the mark. Concepts and combinations we couldn’t have imagined a decade ago have now become commonplace. That’s why we’re confident the 2026 trends will be just as successful as those from previous years.

Keep an eye out for the details we’ll share soon. They matter and are well worth knowing about.
