BUYING VS ORDERING
First things first, it’s really helpful to get complete clarity around the difference between buying and ordering.
BUYING =
Buying from stock that is physically available whether that’s with us, on it’s way to us, with our buying partners in Holland, or on it’s way to our buying partners in Holland.
It’s an item that is available and that you will be committing to buy, once it’s purchased – it’s yours!
ORDERING =
Is simply you telling us what you want us to buy for you, so we can arrange it to arrive fresh when you request.
This ordering could be done through the online Pre order list, or with us in person (or via email, phone, WhatsApp, etc.)
Think of it just like your own customers placing an advanced order with you.
You can add, change, even remove the order entirely (until the flowers have been bought for you).

Flowers London Stock
We carry a wide selection of flowers, foliages, and plant materials. For everyday buying we highly recommend you get online as close to 2pm (when the webshop opens) and buy the products you need from there.
Pros
Order from 2pm until 2am and your flowers will be with you the very next morning (or later that same day if you order after midnight).
Cons
Some examples:
- We would stock 60cm white veronica, Holland have 60 and 70cm and different varieties to choose from.
- We stock 50cm, 60cm, & 70cm Red Naomi Roses. However, if you wanted 40cm or 80cm Red Naomi Roses you would need to buy them from Holland stock.
We don’t hold these items in London as we always aim to offer you the best value and quality, and you’ll find them in ‘Flowers Holland’ section if you wish.
Some examples:
- Peonies from South Africa in November
- Dendrobium orchids

How & when to pre Order
Let's get a good understanding
Pre-Ordering allows you to order flowers, plant materials and more in advance with complete confidence. There are no disadvantages, we’ll explain more shortly, but let’s first focus on timelines.
How to Pre-Order
Pre-Ordering is really simple.
- Click on the ‘Pre-Order Flowers’ listing icon in the left hand side shopping menu (regardless of your device).
- Select the date you would like your flowers to arrive
- Start shopping & place your order
- View what you have ordered at any time by looking in your cart – click on the cart icon to view this
- Order items can be removed, altered or increased until 2 days before the order arrives. This date and time is always clearly shown at the top of the webshop pre-order page.
When to Pre-Order
How far in advance?
You can order over three weeks in advance however the guide price will only be shown within a 7 day window – but don’t let this put you off
What the least amount of time I can Pre-Order?
You can Pre-Order up to 8pm for the delivery after next. For example for arrival on Thursday, flowers need to be ordered by 8pm on Tuesday. The illustration below is designed to help you appreciate the process and understand the timeline.
Behind the scenes of the pre-ordering process – so you know what’s what!
As the illustration and points explain, there are many processes that happen with your Pre-Orders.
- You place your order
- Your order is collated and sent to the trusted growers or buyers at one of the three flower auctions
- Flowers are purchased, picked at growers and brought to the central hub
- Your order is carefully collated and packed
- Delivered from Holland to Westflor upon specialist temperature controlled transport (traveling the quickest route; through the channel tunnel)
- Your flowers arrive at Westflor (late night or early morning)
- We process your order (from around 2am we collate it with any flowers, plants, or sundries you’ve purchased from our London stock)
- Delivered (if this is your preferred option). After our transport manager has everything organised our trusted drivers leave from 5am on their delivery routes.
- Your flowers arrive with you usually by 8am almost always by 9am.

Advantages of Pre-Ordering
Perfect for Planning Ahead
Adding items to your Pre-Order list in advance can make your life easier and help the planning process, whether you use it to for your wedding, event, corporate contracts, or for everyday orders. Perhaps you’d just like to get organised when you know you’ll be busy or are going on holiday. Some customers like to use it as an everyday standing order facility. How you use it is your choice but realising and embracing it has many advantages.
Gives you the flexibility you need
Once you’ve placed your order it’s not set in stone, until the cut off time, which is always show at the top of the buying page.
You can add, remove or change the quantities you’ve ordered, without any problem. We know that even the best laid plans change, that’s why our Pre-Order list is easy to adapt and gives you the flexibility you need.
Securely placed
Whilst your Pre-Order can be changed it doesn’t have to be! You can, of course, place your order and simply forget about it.
We know it’s nice to get jobs ticked off the list when you have a quieter moment. Pre-Ordering provides you with the complete security, confidence, and peace of mind that the job is done.
Myth 1 - Pre-Order Prices are Higher
We categorically guarantee items that you Pre-Order will never be higher than the exact same items on our shop floor or in the London Flowers section of the webshop for that day.
At Westflor we’ll never take advantage of you placing your order ahead of time, nor your need for that exact flower. We will always buy the best product at the best price for you.
We see ourselves as your partners, this means a lot to us, we won’t ever betray your trust, that’s a promise.
An advantage of using these prices for your costings is that you can be confident that you’ll make the profit margin you anticipated, perhaps even more.
Myth 2 - Cut off times can be confusing
The cut off time for each Pre-Order is always clearly shown at the top of the page. Please see the image below for an example of where you’ll always see this info.
Myth 3 - It's not easy to see what I've Pre-Ordered for which days
Within your account menu is a treasure trove of information, everything you might possible want or need (or that’s certainly our aim).
Here you’ll find ‘Order Summary’ a section which shows all the orders you have placed. As you’ll see in the image below, they are laid out showing your orders by day.
When you first place your pre-order you can always see the items in the cart too. These are all visible until the. This is another way Whilst we appreciate this isn’t as useful and the order summary, if you are placing a wedding, or peak period order across multiple days it might be helpful to know and view.
TO BE CONFIRMED…… DEPENDING ON OUTCOME FROM HOLLAND
Myth 4 - I can't change my order
Not true, you can always change your Pre-Order until the cut off time which is always displayed at the top of the page you order from. As shown in the image below.
Myth 5 - I can't see any guide prices
Guide prices are displayed for the next 7 days. If you are ordering beyond a weeks time the price remains empty, but appears when the order fall into the 7 day window.
Below we show an example of this.
Should you need some help on guide prices that aren’t showing, or perhaps many months in advance you can always contact us, our buyer will always make an educated guess for you should you need that information for your own estimate or quote.
Myth 6 - The price shown are wrong - I'm charged a different amount
Yes, the prices shown may not the be prices that you pay as they are guide prices only.
Nine times out of ten the price you pay is less that the price shown. We always try and gauge the price as accurately as we can, but we’d much rather state a price that is slightly higher than what you have to pay than quoting a cheaper price and asking you to pay more, that wouldn’t sit well with us and only happens in extremely exceptional circumstance.
As we mentioned in the Myth 1 – ‘Pre-Order Prices are Higher’ an advantage of the shown higher prices is that if you use them for your costings you can almost always be confident that you’ll make the profit margin you anticipated, perhaps even more.
We think it’s also worth reiterating, we categorically guarantee items that you Pre-Order will never be higher than the exact same items on our shop floor or in the London Flowers Section of our webshop for that day.
At Westflor we’d never take advantage of you placing your order ahead of time, nor your need for that exact flower. We will always buy the best product at the best price for you.
We see ourselves as your partners, this means a lot to us, we won’t ever betray your trust, that’s a promise.
