A Flower Parade Like No Other!

We wanted to share some pure escapism with you! These flower floats are true works of art and have to be seen to be believed!

The twenty creations below are from Bloemencorso Zundert the world’s largest Flower Parade [Bloemen = flower | Corso= parade].

Keep scrollin’

To enjoy the images, short videos, and we’ll throw in a few fun facts along the way…

Fun Fact: The only flower covering all the parade floats are Dahlias, entirely Dahlias!

Fun Fact: The parade is always held on the first Sunday of September. These are the floats from the most recent parade held on Sunday 7th September 2025.

Fun Fact: This was the 2025 winning flower float entitled “Phoenix” by the Buurtschap Tiggelaar team, which won both the judges’ top prize and the public’s award.

Fun Fact: This was the 2025 2nd place flower float entitled “Davy Jones: Keeper of Lost Souls”. They received 596 points just 7 points behind the winners.

Let's see some in action

Fun Fact: This was the 2025 3rd place flower float entitled “Rooftocht” translated to robbery, rampage, or raid.

Fun Fact: All the work carried out from growing the flowers right the way through to being part of the floats is all done voluntarily.

Fun Fact: The floats are up to nine metres high and nineteen metres long – blinkin’ enormous. In 1989 they set those maximum dimensions to stop the ever-increasing sizes!

Fun Fact: The floats can weigh around twenty tons and they’re all moved by hand! The volunteers pushing the float regard it as an honour – there are no tractors or other engines to be seen.

More mechanical movement (& high tech drama!)

Fun Fact: Zundert is divided into twenty “heralds” or hamlets. Each hamlet builds a “Corso” float and celebrate their culture, identity and flag.

Fun Fact: Around half a million dahlias are attached to the floats. This mammoth task only begins a few days before the parade, with everyone pitching in — often working through the night if needed!

Fun Fact: The floats are all paraded through the streets of Zundert on Sunday before they’re displayed in the exhibition grounds all day Monday.

Fun Fact: As soon as the parade results are announced, the celebration begins — the unforgettable Corso Party welcomes everyone to the large festival tent next to the Corso Boulevard. The festivities and party start there, but continue into the heart of Zundert: in the cafés and on various stages, there’s live music, performers, and DJs. It really does take over the whole town!

Fun Fact: Scale models can be viewed from June, and the build tents are open to everyone. Building takes place from 7pm each evening in June, July, and August, with full days on Saturdays and Sundays in the final weeks.

Fun Fact: Corso-builders spend their summers welding iron, sculpturing styrofoam and getting creative with papier-mâché, all before the flowers are added.

Fun Fact: Zundert was the birthplace of Vincent van Gogh.

The final four in action

Space between space, illusion and spendor - Klein-Zundert. Corso Zundert 2025. Image ErwinMartens. Westflor Flower Wholesale

Fun Fact: Each ‘herald’ or hamlet grows its own phenomenal number of dahlias. Across Zundert, around 40 hectares of flower fields are dedicated solely to the parade, with dozens of shapes and colours. Bulbs are planted, weeds managed, and flowers picked — usually by older volunteers in the community.

Fun Fact: There is a great sense of camaraderie between the competing regions, that is, until the moment the professional jury judge the floats, when it’s every herald for itself!

The Birch - Odoodem. Corso Zundert 2025. Image ErwinMartens. Westflor Flower Wholesale

Fun Fact: Not only are the floats created by volunteers — the entire event is volunteer-run. Every year, an enthusiastic and passionate community pulls off the biggest flower parade in the world.

Help Each Other - Alebrijes. Corso Zundert 2025. Image ErwinMartens. Westflor Flower Wholesale

Fun Fact: The first Zundert “corso” took place in 1936 and right from the start the people of Zundert have cherished their parade. Flower parades are a much-loved tradition in the Netherlands, with around 30 taking place across the country each year. Perhaps it’s no wonder that in 2021, UNESCO recognised “corso culture” as part of the world’s ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage’.
