Once again, Westflor was recognised for excellence at the British Florist Association Industry Awards. Winning ‘Flower Wholesaler of the Year 2025 ‘at the BFA Industry Awards for a third time is unprecedented.

Never has a wholesaler regained the crown of this category since the introduction of the expert judging panel working alongside the voting process. To achieve this phenomenal accolade three times confirms our position as the leading force in the UK’s floral industry.

We clearly illustrated to the panel of industry experts how well we perform across all the areas the awards are judged upon: innovation, industry impact, product and service excellence, support and staff development, and sustainability.

In short, they could see that Westflor never rests on its laurels and constantly makes changes to improve the way we do business to benefit our fabulous florists. Whilst our independent business continues to see remarkable growth, our focus is always on our clients — they’re at the heart of what we do.

We’re proud to be shortlisted in three categories at this year’s Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) Awards: Wholesale Floral/Plant Supplier of the Year, Team of the Year, and Manager of the Year.

Often called the Oscars of the fresh produce world, the FPC Awards attract some of the UK’s biggest names — from Waitrose and Tesco to Ocado and Morrisons. So, to be recognised once again, and in three categories no less, is something we’re truly proud of.

We’re standing shoulder to shoulder with companies that operate on a global scale and turn over billions — which makes this achievement all the more remarkable.

Westflor was crowned ‘Flower Wholesaler of the Year’ in 2024. The second time we’ve entered this category and the second time we’ve won. However, that’s not to say for one second we presumed we would win again. The finalists represented the crème de la crème of Flower wholesalers whittled down from all those that entered from around the UK. Our win through this formidable line-up reinforces our leading position within the industry — one that we’re not only grateful for and humbled by, but one we certainly do not take for granted.

Over the past 12 months, we have worked really hard to bring an even better service to our wonderful customers, and the judges fully appreciated all the improvements we made. Couple that with the torrent of votes that poured in for us, and perhaps it was inevitable that we’d achieve this pinnacle of success once more.

The award highlights more than Westflor’s top spot, it signifies us as a leading force with a significant impact in the UK’s floral industry. But importantly we can categorically state that we are a supplier that won’t ever lose focus on our core vision, values and purpose, irrespective of our continued growth and upward trajectory.

One of the main reasons why this award means so much is because it highlights the great support we get from our amazing customers who are the real stars. Once again, we asked them to vote, and they whelm us with their response — it’s a huge reason why we won. It makes us exceptionally proud, humble, and grateful.

Westflor is a finalist in not one, but three categories at the Fresh Produce Consortium Awards, and this is our first time entering! To say we’re over the moon is an understatement, as it’s hard to express the significance of the FPC Fresh Awards.

Often referred to as the “Oscars of the fresh produce sector,” these awards bring together a wide range of companies from every corner of the industry, both in the UK and internationally. We’ve gone head to head and competed against industry giants with turnovers in the tens of billions to make it into the finals, which makes this achievement even more remarkable.

We are still in shock and absolutely thrilled to be finalists in three prestigious categories: Wholesale Floral/Plant Supplier of the Year, Team of the Year, and Manager of the Year. We are filled with pride and gratitude as it’s clear we continue to make waves in the industry for all the right reasons.

In October 2023, Westflor proudly claimed the position of first runner-up for the Sundries Supplier of the Year at the British Florist Association Industry Awards. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as we were the only non-specialist sundries supplier among the six finalists, making our placement even more significant.

Our unique position as a comprehensive supplier, offering flowers and plants alongside sundries, could have been seen as a disadvantage in this category. However, the judging panel of international experts recognised that our sundries department stood strong on its own merits. They appreciated that we offer exceptional products and service in our sundries range, warranting a top spot despite sundries not being the only products we supply to florists.

Julie, our Sundries Coordinator, shared her excitement: “It’s fantastic, we’re thrilled with the result. We work hard to stay ahead of trends, enjoy interacting and sharing ideas and products with clients, and it’s wonderful to see our customers appreciate that effort.”

Jane, the pro with 29 years in our sundries team, was equally elated. Speaking at the event, she beamed, “The sundries department has gone from strength to strength, and the recent energy and enthusiasm injected into it has been brilliant. It’s been felt throughout Westflor, and this award is the icing on the cake.”

Showcasing our vast range of over 62,000 sundries products presented a unique challenge. To give the judges a comprehensive view, we created a bespoke video alongside our application form, ensuring we could highlight the breadth and depth of our offering.

Dave, Westflor Manager, noted the impact of this achievement: “We’ve seen an uptake in new customer registrations, particularly from florists who now realise we offer not just great flowers and plants, but also a comprehensive and innovative range of sundries.”

The awards evening, held on 14th October 2023 in Leicestershire, was a night to remember. Dave was accompanied by the dynamic duo of Julie and Jane, part of our sundries dream team, along with his wife and our marketing manager Tracey. Together, they championed Westflor and our sundries success at this prestigious event, enjoying a fantastic night of celebrations.

This recognition has strengthened our determination to continue offering the very best products and services to our fantastic florist customers. Whether it’s stunning flowers, lush plants, or the latest sundries, Westflor continues to thrive and grow alongside our valued customers.

Westflor triumphantly claimed the title of ‘Flower Wholesaler of the Year’ in 2022. Not only was this our debut entry to the British Florist Association Industry Awards, but our first entry into any awards ever. This prestigious accolade, one of the most fiercely contested categories, pitted us against the crème de la crème of UK flower wholesalers.

Our victory sent ripples through the industry, firmly establishing Westflor as a force to be reckoned with. The judging committee’s decision to award us the top spot underscored how truly deserving we were, highlighting our unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and exceptional customer service.Dave Kingham, Westflor’s Manager, expressed the team’s elation: “We’re over the moon to be recognised as the leading florist suppliers in the UK. To have our customers nominate and vote for us in such high numbers means a great deal to us.”

The glittering award ceremony took place on 15th October 2022 at Jury’s Inn, Hinckley, as part of the annual FleurEx Florist Industry event. As newcomers, we were both shocked and delighted to hear our name called out, marking a momentous milestone in Westflor’s journey.

This award is as much a testament to our valued customers as it is to our team. It was our customers’ trust, loyalty, and appreciation for our products and service, not to mention their thousands of votes, that propelled us to this victory.
