Let's get you in the know about our

Whit Monday

We wanted to share our Whit Monday buying times with you. It’s a date we need you to be aware of that may influence your buying!

Whit Monday

Whit Monday is a Bank Holiday held in Holland on Monday 9th June. As such the Dutch flower auctions are closed on this day and there are no flowers coming into the UK from the Dutch flower auctions in Holland on Monday (for Tuesday delivery or collection).

However, we are open as usual and will have a good level of stock, just as you would expect. Ordering from ‘Flowers London’ will be open as usual and all the products we have direct from other countries will be unaffected.

Please Note:

This Dutch Bank Holiday does affect other buying options, which you need to bear in mind. We go into great detail a little lower.

Dutch Flower Auction Closed! We're open as normal.

Buying from 'Flowers Holland'

If you’d have liked to receive flowers from ‘Flowers Holland’ or ‘VIP Flowers’ on Tuesday 10th June please ensure you place your orders for arrival on Saturday, rather than Tuesday.

Our webshop will reflect the buying options accordingly, we just wanted you to know the earlier buying deadline.

We’re happy to help

If you would like to secure a special order from Holland, but not have it until the Monday or Tuesday, we will happily keep your flowers in our fridge and arrange your collection or delivery as you wish. You will need to place your orders as you usually would for a Saturday arrival and let us know that you’d like them on Monday or Tuesday, rather than the Saturday (when we’ll be getting them in).

Your 'Pre-Orders'

Similarly to ‘Flowers Holland’ you will need to adjust your ‘Pre-Order’ buying times although you will have the option to select Monday or Tuesday buying.

If you would like ‘Pre-Order’ Flowers for Monday 9th June, or Tuesday 10th June that online buying option is open to you* however, your flowers will arrive with us on Saturday 7th June and we’ll hold them in our fridge before your delivery or collection on Monday or Tuesday.

What you need to bear in mind!*

Please be aware the cut off time for your Pre-Orders will reflect their arrival on Saturday, rather than Monday or Tuesday.

This means you need to have completed your buying by 8pm Thursday – but remember you can buy anytime before that.

Of course if you have any queries, or would like to place the order with us directly, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Alternative Arrangements for Fresh Flowers!

We, and our Dutch buying partners have great relationships directly with so many growers. These several of these fantastic growers will be picking they’re wonderful cut flowers over the weekend and our specialist transport companies will be transporting them to us, leaving (as they usually would on Monday).

Whilst this means there will be plenty of stock, direct from growers for delivery or collection on Tuesday, you do need to be aware that you still won’t be able to order from ‘Flowers – Holland’ on our webshop as the vast majority of our Dutch colleagues will be off enjoying their bank holiday weekend (and who can blame them!?).

Is there anything else to consider?

Plants! Similar to the flowers, buying plants directly from Holland will also be unavailable. Again this won’t affect the plants available from our own stock in the webshop ‘Plants – London’ section.

Again, if you have any queries, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Last Dutch Bank Holiday!

We’ve had a run of  bank holidays in the UK & Holland recently. However, this is the last Bank Holiday before Christmas in Holland.

Here in the UK we now have to wait until August before another long bank holiday weekend.

Which we’ll remind you of nearer the time!
