Slight change of plan for Whit Monday - Flowers for Tuesday
As we’ve previously shared that this Monday – 20th May is a bank holiday in Holland (Whit Monday). Whilst we are open as usual the Dutch auctions are not – this usual means that there are no flowers coming into the UK for Tuesday.
We, and our Dutch buying partners have great relationships directly with so many growers. These fantastic growers will be picking over the weekend. Our specialist transport companies will be transporting them to us, leaving (as they usually would on Monday) meaning there will be plenty of stock, direct from growers for delivery or collection on Tuesday.
We were always going to ensure you had plenty of choice, but this means our main product lines that come from Holland will be even fresher. Obviously all the products we have direct from other countries will be unaffected.
So does this now affect you at all?
You do need to be aware that you still won’t be able to order from ‘Flowers – Holland’ on our webshop as the vast majority of our Dutch colleagues will be off enjoying their bank holiday weekend (and who can blame them!?).
Of course if there is anything you need specifically, you can order it to come in on Saturday (we can hold it in our fridge for delivery or collection on Monday if you prefer – just let us know!).
Is there anything else to consider?
Plants! Similar to the flowers, buying plants directly from Holland will also be unavailable. Again this won’t affect the plants available from our own stock in the webshop ‘Plants – London’ section.
Again, if you have any queries, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Just one week longer for us!!
Of course, we’ll have to wait one week longer for our next long weekend – Spring bank holiday. We covered all the details in an earlier article. Which you can click through to here, should you need any reminding about that and how that will affect your buying.
